TVS APACHE 160 RTR 2008 LAUNCHED!
Taking a cue from Bajaj and updating bikes every year, TVS has launched the new 2008 Apache RTR 160 in Hyderabad. The bike was launched amid much fan fare and celebrations at the company’s performance and capability show, organised at People’s Plaza, on Necklace Road.
Also part of the show were professional daredevil stunt riders who performed various breathtaking stunts on the new Apache RTR 160, much to the delight of the people present at the venue. The company has tried to visually increase the size without actually increasing the weight. Helping matters are the new Air Scoops which along with enhancing cosmetics, also help in quicker cooling of the engine. The 2008 Apache also features data logging, much like the racing bikes which includes lap timer, 0-60 kph timer and top speed.
“These features are seen in international race bikes and are tuned to provide the RTR rider with flaunt value and tool for comparison of riding,” Mr R. Dilip, Vice-President (Sales), TVS Motors, said in a statement.

Glad to say that I was there at this programme. Nice looking bike, though one thing to be said is that if one bikemaker uses one design feature, then almost everyone follows. The thing now is air scoops. But in the case of the Apache, it does not look like an afterthought and that is good.
Well its a good thing TVS is in the right direction, they should launch a 180cc Apache, they plan to launch it abroad.

Can anybody tell me what will be the price difference btn RTR 160 and the NEW 2008 RTR?
IS that only the cosmetic changes and anything has been done to the technology?

the price difference betn. old n new rtr is of 850/- the new rtr comes with air scoops, semi chain guard to give sporty look n also includes lap timer, 0-60 kph timer and top speed.
I hav been waiting 4 apache rtr FI 4 d last couple of months.
Now d TVS has recently launched apache rtr 2008 carb vesion not wid FI.
pls sumbody tell me
1. dat wen in Delhi d new apache 2008 wil b available 4 sale.
2. price, mileage & specs of new apache.
3. Overall comparison b/w old and new rtr.
4. Pls post sum close pics of new rtr.

Apache Rtr 160 Fi is the superb bike but I like in black colour not a Yellow or Orange
