TWIN-TURBO V8 IN PLACE OF V10 IN NEXT GEN BMW M5
![]()
The next Gen BMW ‘M’ models will have twin-turbo V8 engines in place of the rev-happy, naturally aspirated V10 now. Speaking to Autonotive News, a source revealed that the twin-turbo’ed 4.4 litre engine V8 currently on the new X6 can be bored out to 4.8 litres and fitted on the future ‘M’ models from the company which includes the M5, due in 2011.
BMW already has a twin-turbo’ed 3.0 litre inline six engine in the 335i, the 535i and the entry level X6 which is fast and highly efficient. BMW can significantly tweak twin-turbo in the X6 for power and take a dig against the best and the fastest.
