Sooppaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like Yamahas have also managed to smash the price prejudice of the FZ.
The FZ will be pegged at a mere 65 grand, well, Ex-Showroom!!!!!!
And for me, the real YIppe factor is the torque rating. For the bike weighing in at 126 kilos, 14 PS and 13.6/14 (Different ratings at different places) is stupendous!!!!!!
Just pinged couple of my frields and showed them the links. “WOW” was the response!!!
They were literally floored!!!!!
And FY, the torque figure is almost 1 Nm higher than the Apache 160 RTR!!!!!!!!!!!
So, forget the power, think about the POWER DELIVERY…..!!!!!!!!!!
As they rightly claim, it HAS to be LORD OF THE STREETS …!!!!!!!!!!
Surely looks very good, should sell very well too.
no doubt it looks damn impressive, cant resist 2 put ma hands on it…. since it weights only 126 kgs, 14 ps will be sufficient enough to keep once pulse ratin……..newayz seems yamaha is ready to give sum sleepless nights to Hero Honda, Bajaj and TVS……hahahaha
“FZ16 weighs just around 126 kg” without any Fluids inside..
65K (Ex-Showroom) is a very competitive price in the 150-160 cc category..!!
Only thing remains to be seen is its Fuel Efficiency.
as per yamaha test riders report it will give 50 kmpl in city driving conditions…
Go to http://imfy.blogspot.com for more pics
And yeah, this bike looks awesome..and the torque rating is good news!! And it looks damn good in all 3 colours! The lines are so muscular..and the overall look is superb!!
Kudos to Yamaha!!!
now i realized that whats difference between a better design and good design. Bajaj seems to be now DESI when compared to yamaha. Bajaj, TVS etc were adding odd looking Fuel tank trinagles , giving cheap look. But now look at yamaha.
Simply International gr8 design.
chk dis out……..
http://autos.maxabout.com/twid0000207/yamaha-fz-150.aspx
Those who wanted a muscular tank, just got one.
Those who wanted a fat rear tyre, just got the fattest.
Those who wanted a fast pickup, just got it faster.
Those who wanted a lower sticker price, just got it cheaper.
Those who wanted a international brand name, just got one of the big four.
At long last, the wait is finally over………..
awsome, its a real male
but misses out on rear disc and fi, which might give rtr160fi an advantage
Way to go yamaha ! Sure it is a awesome lookin bike . Before pulsar was called definately male. Now this is father of that male. No probs if no fi & rear disc . But still gr8 value for money . But if yamaha could get the price a 1/2k low then it would be much better .

Hello guys, I’m the regional manager for sales in South India. Thanks to this blog for a good review of the bike. It is definitely a step upwards from other motorcycles in this category. Many people have asked about the mileage of the bike - it is going to be in the range of 50-60 if you use only high octane fuel. Our bike is going to kick everyones’ ass**. We at Yamaha welcome your comments

Now this is the bike that can turn Yamaha’s fortunes in India around. Looks great. Hope it goes great too and I see no reason why it will not. All the best Yamaha. This bike deserves to be King.
No Doubt its second best bike in india after the GR8 R-15 in all categories.
Hero Honda/Bajaj Pulsar will be F****d up.
right vivek. this is a truly macho bike & that too on a tested platform of FZee 1000. what was yamaha doing all these years when bajajs & hero hondas were making hay with this pieces of tin & bolts? probably yamaha was breeding these master pieces for indians & that too at a competitive price.
one of the best part of the bike is the tank design. it has removable fenders around to give it a complex, muscular shape. this can protect your precious tank from direct dents due some hits & misses and later you can change those and make it look new again at a reasonable cost (if you would at wish to).
I need the rear part of this baby for my R 15…anyone has any clue that the tyres(front-rear) including its rim fits into r 15..also the fender…please suggest
Dear Ksitiz, the frame is totally different & has following differentials;
1. The mounting frame is different in size. The R15 is delta frame based on R1 and FZ 16 is based on FZ 1000.
2. It has a drum brake & hence your R15 hydraulic rear disc brakes will totally go worthless.
However, the entire mechanism can be changed through an expert, which i would never suggest. Any change will disturb the sporting dynamics and will forfiet your warranty.
Just evaluate logically. If Yamaha can give a wider tyre in a cheaper variant why it could not give it R15?
Use the present tyres for some time and then in the next tyre change look for some wider pod which can be fitted into the rim.
Guys !
I have even got my loan approved from Bussan Auto Finance( Official Finance Partner for Yamaha Bikes in India ) for FZ 16. http://www.bafindia.com
Ready to hit Bangalore roads soon.
The bike was launched today at the Le Meredian.
All the best YAMAHA!!!!!! We all love you!!!!!!!! And also we worship you!!! I can still rememer the day i booked my Yamaha RX135!!!!!! Happiest day of life!!!!!!!!!!!! will plan for one FZ16 tooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this bike vis the gorgious bike i have ever seen in india. It is a true indian sports bike.

All the best YAMAHA. I am an ardent YAMAHA fan owning an RX100 since 1991 and now I am planning to replace it with FZ16 because all these years I could not find a suitable replacement for RX100 which is still driving great.
Mr. Ramkumar, the regional manager for sales in South India commented that the FZ16 would give a mileage in the range of 50-60 if we used high octane fuel. Is this still valid? Because the following url http://www.vicky.in/straightfrmtheheart/yamaha-fz16-pictorial-review/ , says that the bike would give onl 35kmpl. Is that true?
The pillion seat is so small that even an average size adult could find it tough. Long rides i feel, would be going to be uncomfortable. What do you guys have to say?
Regarding the front number plate for the FZ 16, it is fitted in a wrong place i suppose. It needs a thinking. The rear of the bike looks awesome.
Yes I am going to buy this one
hope I’ll be the first owner of this bike in college……
You are right sakith
I’ll need to change the front number plate position
tell me if you get some idea..
The no plate is not required to shift to another position but you can change the design from rectangle to someother .
Really a Hunk look machine.
I alwayz wanted a bike like dis,fuel efficient + Stunning look + Mono Shockup + ……..etc.
Thanks to yamaha for bringing a new era in Bike Yechnology.
Hello Guys,
I have recently booke this Bike at bangalore. I had been to the showroom. I was just having a look at all the parts of the bike. I would like to add some observations that I had after a First look at this bike.
Advantages-
- Great Look I would Rate it 10/10
- Rear Tyre - Awesome 10/10
- The tachometer - Digital - Real sport bike look
- Total Digital Meters
- Comfortable to Sit (Tried by me)
- All the three colors suit the bike. Anyone wants to buy can go for any of the three colors
- Front forks are excellent
- Rear Mono Suspension
Disadvantages-
- Number Plate in the pront
- Small digi meter - Difficult to look in while driving
- Back Light - Could have been better
- Mileage will be affected due to the thich rear tyre.
- No kick Start
Over all i would say one thing
Whatever disadvantages I have discussed will be far behind the advantages. We can easily overlook the disadvantages that have been found in the Bike
The Bike costs around 75000 K
Looking forward to give a more detailed review on the bike after I get a hands on the same
Cheers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAMAHA

Wake up people!
Stop looking at the image s of the bike online & go visit the showroom. anyone will be floored by the luks of this bike but the machine has no great credibility apart from dat. the lcd display is as small as a blackberry phone. the bike has no kick start so get ready to push the bike to embarrassment wen ur self starter/battery fails. the pillon once had a ride on ur bike wuld not ke to hop on again considering the room space for the back seat.
the lord of the streets is only the lord of looks!
u Sumit,
Fool LCD display is small coz of its sporty looks, and pulsar 220 is also dnt hve kick start though its very popular……. So check ur small brain first then choose bike.
