Yamaha Launches Fazer With ‘Touring Spirit’

Yamaha has lauched another variant of the popular FZ 16 called the Fazer Touring Spirit in the Indian market.
Fazer essentially is the touring version of the FZ 16 with tweaks for long distance travelling. The front now comes with a color co-ordinated aerodynamic cowl to keep the wind blast at bay while the riding position has been tweaked for long hour, long distance travel and comes with special anti-skid seat skin. Twin 35W headlamps at do the lightening duties upfront to keep the vision clear  and also bring it in line with global Yamaha Fazer DNA.
Dissapointingly though the engine remains the same 150cc Air-cooled SOHC 2 valver from the FZ 16Â and goes against the touring nature of the bike for which extra power and torque would have been more than welcome. The engine delivers 14 ps of maximum power at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 14 nm @ 6000 rpm which is mated to a 5 speed gearbox and comes electric start as standard.
The new Yamaha Fazer comes in a total of four colors - Electric Blue, Lava Red, Flaming Orange and Midnight Black and is priced at Rs 72,000 Ex-Showroom Dehi.

F another 150cc
yar i dont know when these people will understand that we want bigger bikes, higher bhp, higher torque. We were always angry on bajaj that they launch 150cc then 180cc then 200cc then 220cc. But yamaha has gone one step up 150(R1) then 150(FZ) then 150(FZS) now 150 fazer
In INDIA we have bikes of price range 45000 to 1 lakh then a sudden jump to 10 lakh. where one should go with a budget of 2 or 4 lakh. Where are 250cc or 400cc bikes
aman …………… don’t worry they will soon follow. Yamaha is just getting its foot on the right place now.
though Yamaha sales were down all these years, the bike they sold were over engineered and were quality products ( see the gladiator). 150cc category is the highest selling in India and is good to have many products there. with good products here, maybe we are approaching the times of the r250s
This is the only company who understand the need of the young generations requierment but not 100% yet. Boss we need more power…nowww……
Please understand I am driving a 180 CC so I can not switch to 15o cc
Absolutely agreed Aman. I am tired of Yamaha’s stingyness when it comes to capacity. They have taken a hell lot of time to reach 150 and they are now stuck at it. God only knows when they will get bigger!
Thaks to all who replied on my thoughts. i have a thunderbird a 350cc which is highest torque bike manufactured in INDIA and i am very very happy with it. But still it is a Cruz bike not a performance bike
i Dont think so that we will see any performance bike of 250 or 400cc manufactured in india so that its price is less that 4 lakh.
Big bore bikes in excess of 400cc will not sell in India as they will be too expensive. Companies cannot make bikes for a handful of enthusiasts when investments cost big time.
Yes. I agree with Aman. Bajaj company is almost closed, their last try is the Pulsar opened their eyes. Within very short period they have launched from 150 to 220cc. But ours
Yamaha is on like tortoise speed. But I hope Yahama lovers will never go away from Yamaha even though they are late. Kudoos to Yamaha. Now I’m happy with the latest FZ’s. Thanks to Yamaha.
Guys, it won’t take yamaha much time to launch a 250cc+ bike. but think of the company’s proft. How many people do you think will buy those bikes in india as they give damn low mileage and are priced in lakhs?
Bike enthusiasts like us are just a hand ful india. This is the only reason that’s holding yamaha to launch it’s super bikes here.
Something i would like to share, i’ve booked a yamaha fazer orange.
Can’t wait to get my hands on it…
And hey, i saw a coment some where about the fazer’s dual deah light problem.
What’s the problem exactly…? :O
I am planning to get a Fazer this puja… I am jst crazy abt that bike.. muaaah
dudes! whoever plans on buying the new yamaha fazer i would say DONT!!! i feel cheated and am devastatingly disappointed after buying that bike about a week ago… i liked the fz-16 but didn’t go for it coz i had a thing for twin lights… so i went for the fazer instead after paying 10k more (remember JUST FOR THE TWIN LIGHTS!!) and now i find out that ONLY ONE of the lights will turn ON.. imagine my UTTER DISGUST!!! i mean WTF?? wat were the designers thinking????? at first i thought it was sum kinda fault wid my bike and that i would get it fixed after the pujas… but now after going through the manual carefully and the internet i realise it IS MEANT TO BE LIKE THAT!!!! when you turn the switch to ‘high beam’ ONLY the right light of the twins turn on and when you turn it to ‘low beam’ ONLY the left of the twins turn on!!!!! YOU JUST CANNOT TURN THEM BOTH ON AT THE SAME TIME!!! unlike the R15 where you can…
such a disappointment.. i mean BECAUSE they designed twin lights now it feels all the MORE AWFUL to have only one light turned on at night… just imagine riding through the streets at night with ONLY one of the twin lights on!!! it will seem as if one of the bulbs is fused or something… HELL!!
of course if you dont care much about the twin lights turning on at the same time you can go for it but i would say then its no point in going for the fazer shelling out 10 k more than the FZ because apart from the SO CALLED twin lights the bikes just the FZ
chill dude….
both lights will probably work togather if you use the pass switch… try it… or get some mechanic to tinger with the wiring..
let me tell you something.. you won’t get yamaha’s quality and consumer satisfaction anywhere else.. belive me.. i got an R15..
