I am sure Yamaha is planning to make the buyer fool one more time. This is just what they are showing to get booking. THey did it while launching Gladiator as well. Showed something and finally released some pathetically designed bike. :sad:

» fas said: { Jun 2, 2008 - 02:06:32 }

I agree Joydeep Yamaha is trying fool people. Whats the delay with the launch of the bike, they were supposed to launch it in May.

Cheers

I dont know how can they start bookings even without a single performance review of a “performance bike”? Even the specifications are not known ……

» Microman said: { Jun 3, 2008 - 09:06:26 }

Come on guys! give Yamaha a chance; you want performance first and last, so they have now brought just such a bike. Try it out first, then comment please.

» Sumit said: { Jun 3, 2008 - 11:06:19 }

try first then comment … agreed. So let them launch first and then ask for the bookings … atleast let the specs be out in the open and give the bike to some magazines for review.

that’s a great bike…………
hey do any of you guys got a scoop on bajaj xcd sprint???

» sadsack said: { Jun 4, 2008 - 12:06:13 }

The booking is probably to guage the response of the buyers. I do not really think of this as a great way of doing things but it must be said in their defence that this kind of practice is standard in the launch of niche products. Yamaha seem to be using this model not for volumes but as technology showcase and my guess is that the FZ 150 will be the volumes player. Their Alba, Libero G5 etc are not going to sell in big numbers with or without this technology showcase. Lets wait and see.

Yamaha R15 is launching on June 12th and it has been confirmed from the yamaha india website.

» Joydeep said: { Jun 4, 2008 - 08:06:25 }

See I am not saying that Yamaha is not gonna launch this bike. But probably what you will see actually in the market will be way different than what is shown in the auto expo. I am not against a good bike launch in the market. If they really bring the exact bike in the market than I would be the happiest person. So let’s keep our fingers crossed till we see it on road for real. :smile:

» pranav said: { Jun 4, 2008 - 09:06:03 }

isnt 1 lakh too much for a 150 cc bike?????
i dont think it ll be overtake the pulsarmania which is cheap and gives much better milage…
seems like yamaha r15 is only for rich spoilt brats

» Mayank said: { Jun 5, 2008 - 02:06:35 }

@Pranav - Its not about being a spoiled brat.Its about love for bikes…

:cool: Finally someone heard the prayers of Indian Bikers, amen to that. So my fellow bikers , i am gonna grab this beast no matter how much it costs, i already have a karizma and just sold my pulsar 180 so this one’s gonna be a really good replacement 4 me and lol yes i am not a rich spoilt brat but just a Die hard Indian biker ………..let the Roads burn, make way for the king………….the first indian True sports bike is here, hope hero honda and bajaj start giving us some new innovative designs rather than te same old machines with modifications@p220 and new hero honda karizma…….which only have sligt performance and plastic makeovers. Have fun and drive safe my fellow bikers.xxx

» hellboy said: { Jun 9, 2008 - 07:06:08 }

seriously the bike cool,but the rear part of it sucks………..looks like a normal 100cc bike

» ksitiz said: { Jun 9, 2008 - 10:06:46 }

Is R 15 smaller than ther honda unicorn……it’d be a waste if its as big as the apaches

» ksitz said: { Jun 9, 2008 - 10:06:38 }

the machine looks awesome…the only concern is the saddle height

» ksitz said: { Jun 9, 2008 - 10:06:11 }

» Anurag said: { Jun 9, 2008 - 04:06:10 }

@pranav , dude chill man you seem to be obsessed with the pulsars which is now a common man’s bike , here we talkin about exclusivity. You are not gonna see every tom , dick and harry on an r15 unlike your pulsars. I do admit that the bike is a bit overpriced at Rs 1,10,000 :sad: for a 150 cc bike, but then let’s not forget that it’s a niche product only for the classes(Die Hard Bikers) and not masses(common riders). It’s for racing and ot daily commuting, if you are more concerned about mileage get Bajaj XCD 125 which gives a proven mileage of 110 kmpl :wink: .
pros:
The R15 is a fully loaded machine with 6 gears(highway driving pleasure)
60-65 kmpl(decent)
double mono shock suspension as (compared to single mono in unicorn)
nice HUD (heads up display)
front and rear disc brakes(only p220 gives u those)
17-18 bhp(equal to karizma, p180 )
liquid cooled(first in india , pulsar is oil cooled)

cons;
Rear tyre too thin(well you ca n get it replaced with zapper like u r pulsar or zma)
Price 1,10,000(not everyone’s pie but then again u have finance schemes)

I paid 10,000 deposit to book mine in delhi in the arctic blue color 2 days back and expect to get delivery on 22 june , will make sure to get that rear tyre replaced after a month or so lol :mrgreen:

» ksitiz said: { Jun 9, 2008 - 04:06:50 }

wooow!!!!! (don’t tell me its) IR110,000 bucks :???: …you folks in india are damn lucky….it’ll be ’round NR.450,000 in nepal with all the f***ing customs..man I really wanted to buy that bike from months…but thats too much for me…Is any one sure ’bout the price..
that much money I can do a downpayment for a mazda3. :evil:

» Vinod said: { Jun 10, 2008 - 12:06:59 }

:neutral: Friends,I saw its ad and felt that the bike is too small to be accepted as a sprts bike..What do you think?? The tyres are really small,and it looks like an animated version of R1… :cry:

» dany said: { Jun 10, 2008 - 03:06:12 }

hmmm bike looks cool, still let it launch…lets see what al happens… but as others said 1lac is too much for a 150cc bike..???? :shock:

» Jigar2speed said: { Jun 11, 2008 - 08:06:20 }

@ Vinod, Yes man the bike too small for you .. Please don’t buy it .. I am 6.3 and i have driven R 15 @ pune and i was very comfortable driving it.. Vinod i am aware you are 7.3 please don’t buy it , it’s really small for you… *sarcasm over*

By the way, what’s up with you guys ? 1 Lakh for 150 CC is too much, blah blah.. do you know… Let it be..

Let me just give you an example here

there are 2 cars … 1) 800 CC 55 BHP and 2) 1000CC 60 BHP … Tell me which one is powerful..

Ofcourse 800CC, because the engine is refined here and makes more power in less CC…

Now compare 150 CC R15 @ 20 BHP (Not comformed but it make 145KMS so it should be) and Pulsar 220 CC @ 20 BHP … What do you think ? which one is powerful ??

i think nuff said here :wink:

» ksitiz said: { Jun 12, 2008 - 02:06:24 }

Anybody got the baby…pls let me know how does it feel…the dimension as printed in the official website gives the impression that it is even smaller that the apache….what do you reckon….can’t wait to feel her..from nepal

Good looks doesn’t means thatz a good bike. Let the bike Perform on the Indian Roads Like KARIZMA n PULSAR. These bikes have ruined the market. YAMAHA alwayz comes with a Hike like Enticer but Later they down. Only RX-100 & RD-350 were those two bikes who have got BOOM in d Market & Performed VERY WELL.

» Surdas said: { Jun 15, 2008 - 03:06:30 }

hey guys cooooooLLLL…..lets see the performanece first then will give the comments, i love to have the R15 really it looks like R1 ..currentyly am having GLADIATOR and its my sweet heart she care me alwys, so….just waiting to see u R15 in the market…

» Surdas said: { Jun 15, 2008 - 04:06:43 }

i would also thanks to YAMAHA for manufacturing such type of BIKES for youth, but pls concerned about the price, coz there are pple who loves to own one but if the price too high then?????????? hope it would be around 80 to 90,000,

» ritesh said: { Jun 16, 2008 - 11:06:38 }

@ surdas, dude forget about it , it’s a hefty 1, 08,000 bike that too 150cc , rich man’s bike so forget about it.i d rather buy a pulsar 220 for 84000 or zma for 72,000 lol

» prakash bhardwaj said: { Jun 18, 2008 - 01:06:08 }

yamaha r15 looks good onthe net however it is so costly , for 150cc bike to pay 1 lac
they should price it near about 60 thousand to be a leader on indian roads.

» Sougata said: { Jun 19, 2008 - 12:06:14 }

i’m sure Yamaha doesnt want to make a Pulsar out of the R15! and thats only one thing…
also consider the fact that they are putting in the best of technology on this bike. for such features and hopefully performance as well, the price should be well justified. everyone knows that India is an extremely price-sensitive market. so surely, the R15 will be VFM if not anything else!

» GTR said: { Jun 19, 2008 - 01:06:56 }

i think gt125r looks way too better :mrgreen:

my cus bought it and i had a chance to ride it for say aprx 70kms and the avg mileage it gave me was 30-35kmpl

» Naresh said: { Jun 29, 2008 - 02:06:36 }

1 question….does anyone know what bajaj is up to…now the R-15 is out and yamaha claims even with smaller cubic capacity and lesser ps, apparently R-15 can trash a 220….are we gonna see an upgraded pulsar 220….

» User said: { Jul 2, 2008 - 04:07:54 }

Bike is good, however if you ever have a fall, its surely going to make a lot of mess of the fiber body in the front. As we might have noticed, there is no leg guard in the front which Indian bikes have. Leg guard protect your leg and the bike incase we skid or fall. Lets make an assumption of what would happen if one falls from this bike : 1) The indicators along with the front frame will definately be damaged. 2) if not lucky, chances of bruising or breaking your leg as bike would fall on the leg.

» Sumeet said: { Jul 2, 2008 - 04:07:14 }

Hey Ksitiz…its not going to cost 4,5000 in Nepal as u have predicted… i have talked to the Yamaha dealers here and they say it will come within 2 to 2.5k…. so i guess thats fair enough…. definately looking forward to it.. As they say we have around 20 days more for the launch here in Nepal :smile:

Hey guys…Today I saw the R15 on road on my way to office…I have a pulsar 220 and believe me, it even made me jealous for a few seconds (till it passed by my eyes)…No doubt, its a stunner with all the trust of Yamaha (I still remember the good old RX100)…It certainly looked good on road but cant tell u much till I myself get my hands on it… I think for the time being I will go for a modification of my 220 as a competition is on the road (at least in the looks department)…..

» shoumo said: { Aug 4, 2008 - 11:08:12 }

hey someone said here about the lowering of yamaha R 15 price :?: do u really feel it will be done :?: for frankly it is a fantasy bike as far as the looks and expected catalogue of the bike

but will it be worth to wait for the fiero f3 :?: or go for this bike

has anyone checked if the bike is comfortable at its max speed

does it vibrates????????????????

waitng a reply :razz:

» Sumit, delhi said: { Aug 6, 2008 - 03:08:45 }

Hey folks i booked R15 yesterday in blue it looks awesome however black looks a bit dul..anyways i took a test ride it is much better then karizma and P-220 they sucks as a long run performance one of my friends have this byke @ banglore he stated that he drove over 200 km to delhi and stopped only twice and top speed touches 145km which is remarkable for any 150cc byke reason any other byke may suffer engene cease by burning clutch plates and as this beauty have liquid cooling she blast the rest….and avg around 45kmpl which is highly digestable without a pill of hajmola…

I am sure that YAMAHA R15 is making a huge revolution among people.
Mostly youngster’s are attracted.

But it is very costly(around 1 Lakh) of 150cc bike.

YAMAHA can reduce it to around Rs.80,000…..

If YAMAHA reduce the cost of bike?????????
