You can’t exactly take the radiator off an engine and make it air cooled. The FZ engine, even on visual inspection, has nothing in common with the R15 engine. Even the crank cases are different.

Which is not to say that the bike is bad. Yamaha has pulled off a brilliant move by spec-ing this bike close to the competition, while giving it class leading styling. That link type monoshock and gorgeous swing arm should be placed in the R&D facilities of every other manufacturer for inspiration’s sakes.

I’ve been waiting for a long time to say this, but the time is ripe now: “Yamaha pwns all. Screw the rest. Muahahahahaha”…..

IMFY: The engine in the R15 is the one from V-Ixion.

The ine in the FZ seems to be an all new design. haven’t seen the architecture in any of Yamaha’s east asian models.

Looks like Yamahas have also managed to smash the price prejudice of the FZ.
The FZ will be pegged at a mere 65 grand, well, Ex-Showroom!!!!!!

And for me, the real YIppe factor is the torque rating. For the bike weighing in at 126 kilos, 14 PS and 13.6/14 (Different ratings at different places) is stupendous!!!!!!

Just pinged couple of my frields and showed them the links. “WOW” was the response!!!
They were literally floored!!!!!

And FY, the torque figure is almost 1 Nm higher than the Apache 160 RTR!!!!!!!!!!!
So, forget the power, think about the POWER DELIVERY…..!!!!!!!!!!
As they rightly claim, it HAS to be LORD OF THE STREETS …!!!!!!!!!!
