Any idea about price?

the news of the possibility of Yamaha launching the r15 is very exciting indeed. i am a die hard fan of Yamaha and i own one (fazer). there is something about yammies that once u ride it , you’ll fell in love wid it. i hope this time it won’t turn out to be a rumour.

i wouldn’t mind about the fuel economy. If yamaha fails to bring something big, then i would have no other choice than to save for an R1.

IT will be launched..thats 100%. and it will be launched in winter 2008!!!!!!

Yamaha officials were very tight lipped about the bhp figure. When asked they just said, it will create a new performance benchmark not only in its segment, but also 2 segments above it, the 200 cc + segment.
All along they said that this bike has the DNA from global yamaha R series models. The bike looks very very promising. Agreed its not a higher CC bike but its full blown, no holds barred 150cc.
We are waiting to get our hands on this one.

Throughout the press presentation Yamaha people never even mentioned BHP, forget about confirming it. But going by what they said about its performance, it would be atleast 18 bhp.
It would be launched in the middle of 2008.

Dont be in any kind of misunderstanding,and trust us when we say “the RTR doesnt even stand a chance against R15″ No way!
Its a full blown 150cc, if ever there was. The bike has already been tested and taken upto 140 kph on the test track. Yamaha is still fine tuning the engine.

We will update the site with the Yamaha press release and all the information that we have about the R15.

1. this is a similar 125cc from yamaha in international market . it produces almost 15 bhp which is 2 bhp higher than the honda rival in international market.

2. honda cbr 150 (150cc) produces 17bhp..which is just a commercial bike in international market. it will smoke the so called and claimed performance bikes namely rtr, p180 and even match p200.

3. going by simple calculation of 2 bhp more than honda as in 125cc segments, this bike should atleast have 19bhp.(r1 race type)

4. no stupid bike company in their right minds would increase one bhp from 125cc to 150 cc.

5. last of all….as many dont know. this is international bike coming to india. they are launching this bike world wide..they are not making for the indian but for world market and they will never consider rtr’s , pulsar’s and zma’s for competition. p220 can be the only competition and i hope they put it to shame.

The bike isnt 22 bhp, infact as I said, Yamaha is still working on the engine, but it has to be more than 18 bhp to claim the performance honours in its segment and segments above, as yamaha said it will.

Dont think TVS is going to sit back..to enjoy the show..They are testing their mods for the Efi..which can produce at least 19-20 bhp with the same 2 valve head..

When you are running performance kits in a road bike, you are compromising on reliability and efficiency. Besides TVS and all the Indian manufacturers are still stuck with age old chassis technology.

YZFr15 is 20 bhp 150 cc 6 speed gear bike and the price would be some where around 80000 ealier they decided to make 90 000 but nano soon gonna launch & there are few car co. as they are gonna launch 100000 rs cars ,& as far as concern with performance
yamaha bikes are bast of all segments gladiator is 125 cc but it can easily beat the pulsar 150cc and honda unicorn,do not chk the CC chk the power Its 20 bhp beast
pulsar 225 cc is 19. something,thats the reason it has dual disc brake its a true technology NOT A JUGAD,other Pulsar models look nice But 225 CC PULSAR LOOK like a donkey .so wait & watch YAMAHA is all set to produce his 2 clone YZF R 15(R1) & FZ1 (FZ) which are the invention to jack up the indian bikes

last 4 years. but every time my legs not even my bike didn’t

even got a single scratch. It was possible just because of leg

gaurd.

What about Yam-R15 safety? it is even not having a leg guard!!!

just think somebody spend 90,000 buks to buy this mean machine,

a very small accident will surely drag his legs to road and

also its front fearing and indicators will be broken even if it

fells while standing or driving. He “somebody” will have to

spend huge money on his legs and even more on the bike to

regain its beauty. i’m sure its front fairing will cost above

10,000 because karizma’s cost 8500 above.

I am not very familiar with sports bike so i cannot say about

their safety. So somebody kindly suggest me and clearyfy about

my above point about safefy of R15.

the nu gladiator even delivers more than expected,can compete wit p 150.
now p220 has got some company,maybe rivalry.

1 its not gonna be comfortable for tall guys like me.

The bike is going to be launched on 16th in Chennai. The invitations are ready. The bike has got hell a lot of sensors , like the engine will put off automatically, if the bike fells down. It has got an imported battery . The head light is far better than many cars in India. But the two lights will on only in hi beam and one in low beam. The engine life is 300000 kms . The mono link suspension adjusts automatically to the riding conditions - tougher in bad roads and softer in smooth roads . With its balancing the bike wont fell down for sure . Price will be known only on 7th of june.

Finally, something worthy to drive (not to mention acceptable for my pocket as well ) I want to see how this bike fairs against the Bajaj’s flag ship mode. If this beats the Pulsar 220 on straight line, i am sold.

this all will not work for this bike just an out standing bike on indian roads . I think you cannot compare any machine with this just a marvellous stuffffffffffffff.

Guys stop day dreaming and come back to reality. Do you really think Yamaha is going to launch the same bike which they have shown at the Auto Expo? They showed some different Gladiator and launched some pathetically designed one. I am sure they are gonna do the same this time as well. I think Yamaha officials think Indian buyers are not worthy enough of riding some excellent looking bikes.

Lets not put it that way. Lets say Yamaha is not worthy enough operating in India if they do anything stupid this time. Many mighty companies have bitten the dust when they thought they can take the customer for a ride and believe me … should Yamaha do anything foolish … they wont get a second chance this time … although I am wondering what has made then behave so arrogantly so as to ask for bookings from customer without even launching the bike and winning back the long lost well being with the indians…

Hi. Everything is good in R15 but yamaha has not given its stand that it had showed in Auto Expo, Delhi. It lacks a good and stylish leg guard. In hills, it should be better than p180 but similar to p200 in terms of power and pickup as i feel that weight to power ratio is well maintained and at last the seat could have been like p200 (split seats).

alll d features r rocking but d only problem is the tyres r very small in width like karizma.it should b atleast like pulsar 220.tyres r nt like a sports bike.if d tyres will broad enough like pulsar 220 then d bike will b outstanding/,.

The bike is inspired from yamaha’s top racing models such as the legendary r1 but its a 150cc bike and also it is priced around 1.1lakh rupees!!! I think its price is a little too much for a bike in 150cc segment

hey guys,This Indian designed R15 is a flop with thin tyres for the big guy and lots of problems with it even after launch to be released i guess 112000 is a huge price for the poor plastic and thin ricksha tyres P220 adds muscle except for an extra engine couling to be fitted its 20 bhp twin spark digital controlled disk brakes worth on indian market compared to the big problem maker r15.

yamaha r15 has stunning looks but it lacks wide tyres n convertible seats
i think it vl give less performance as compared to karizma n pulsar 180
surely it vl b a dashing bike for teenagers like us
