YAMAHA’S NEXT: FZ 150 CAUGHT TESTING!

Scoop Pictures Yamaha FZ 150 India

Yamaha India is on an upward swing. After launching the very capable YZF R15 the company is readying to fire yet another salvo in the Indian two wheeler market, the FZ 150. Whenever launched this will be the best looking bike ever to come out from an Indian manufacturer.

Big beefy forks, wide rear tyre, massive fuel tank, stubby silencer all contribute to make it a looker bar none in the country. The bike is expected to come around diwali and will come with the carburetted version of the R15 engine with around 15 bhp on tap.

The engine will be tuned for mid-range performance than top end madness and is expected to be priced between Rs 65000 - Rs 70,000.

The bike was caught testing ridden by a factory rider by Ishaan from Team-Bhp.com

» Neel said: { Jul 6, 2008 - 04:07:08 }

Hope this bike will available….all over YAHAMAHA showroom….not like some pro biking showroom like bajaj, So owners can get serviced at their local…and ofcource the price must be reasonable…If this bike has no special feature like FI,Liquid C, 6th Gear,No LED Tail/Stop Lamp then priced must be in between 70-85000 on road. (Max 90000)

If they think Looks & Digital Console (As the testing pic 2 & 3, I saw dial) cost around 1 Lakh…then wanabe customers are only XBHP’s Bike collector members…[No offense].

This bike has all the features of the R15,except for the faring  …so i think this should cost around 65 - 75 k… just waiting for this babe to come out

Some Details About the Bike: (Source:xbhp)

Rear tire size 130/x 17 (it’s confirmed now)
Front tire size 100/x 17

Headlight is same as the prototype model and digital console is from r15

The bulky fuel tank which is showing in the spy pics is actually a three piece cover for the tank. Top cover is of plastic and of black color (will look like the RTR tank strip).

Like r15 BHP figure is not clear as they are doing R&D on the test bikes.

Engine is air cooled with carburetor. And please don’t expect much in power as Yamaha is trying hard to keep ex showroom prize under 65K. As it will be the mass production Bike for Yamaha.

r15 is awesome but it need…… it produce only 17 bhp in 149 cc and cost 110000 rs instead of this if u purchase karizma or pulsar 220 u got this right choice bcoz these bikes are cheap in price.so why peoples not buy these karizma and pulsar .ur price should b 65 k not more than this

WELCOME BACK YAMAHA!!!! I wonder why we indians always ask ‘kya average hai?’.
If you need a big bike feel you’ve got to spend some, that’s what I…. we need….

Sooppaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like Yamahas have also managed to smash the price prejudice of the FZ.
The FZ will be pegged at a mere 65 grand, well, Ex-Showroom!!!!!!

And for me, the real YIppe factor is the torque rating. For the bike weighing in at 126 kilos, 14 PS and 13.6/14 (Different ratings at different places) is stupendous!!!!!!

Just pinged couple of my frields and showed them the links. “WOW” was the response!!!
They were literally floored!!!!!

And FY, the torque figure is almost 1 Nm higher than the Apache 160 RTR!!!!!!!!!!!
So, forget the power, think about the POWER DELIVERY…..!!!!!!!!!!
As they rightly claim, it HAS to be LORD OF THE STREETS …!!!!!!!!!!
